Each set of explosions was calculated to paint a different picture

This youtube clip documents (terribly) the (thundering) opening of the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar, where Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang put a large "explosion event". The display is controlled by microchip-explosives which are programmed to create the volatile and exciting stormy, powder-splatters in the shapes of pyramids, rainbows and the like. Rather more exciting than nocturnal fireworks.

October 3rd , 2011 The Obakki Foundation is proud to announce the launch of their fundraiser The Rainmaker Auction - an online eBay auction to raise $200,000 to help fund the drilling of 200 water wells in South Sudan this December.

The auction, which runs from November 1st - 14th, will feature one-of-a-kind experiences as well as hundreds of signed auction items from well known musicians, athletes, celebrities and artists. New auctions items will be released daily on the Obakki Foundation eBay account over the duration of the two weeks.

Treana Peake, Creative Director of luxury womenswear clothing brand Obakki, founded the Obakki Foundation in 2009 to help provide clean water projects and educational development in Africa.

"We recently traveled to South Sudan to see a country and people destroyed after 40 years of civil war. Over 2 million people have been killed with another 4 million displaced, leaving behind a country of women and young men with fractured hope for their futures.” says Peake. “After only 7 days on the ground, we became committed to these people for life. Within 3 months of our return to Canada, we drilled over 100 wells, bringing clean water to over 100,000 people. This upcoming dry season we have committed to drill 200 more."

As with all of the Obakki Foundation’s fundraising projects, 100% of money raised will go towards drilling the much needed water wells in Sudan. Projects start immediately and auction winners will quickly be able to see the impact their donations have created.

Macy's introduced Anna Dello Russo as INC International Concepts' editor at large for the Fall/Winter 2001 collection at the line's launch event last night in New York City.Dello Russo, an editor at Vogue Japan, is well known for her over the top style and droves of fashion-hungry fans. So, it comes as no surprise that Macy's would tap someone with her vibrant aesthetic to edit and style INC's Fall collection.

Last night's event displayed Dello Russo's lively spirit through "day in the life" videos projected on the venue's walls. Dello Russo did not attend the event, but Solange Knowles, June Ambrose and Genevieve Jones were on hand to preview the collection and take in the sights and sounds.

You can expect a distinctively Modernist feel from the Fall 2011 INC Collection, complete with color block separates, tons of hot pink and plenty of polka dots. Add some fur faux, a bit of attitude, a reasonable price tag (everything retails between $30-$169) and you're ready for the Fall season.

Last night In London Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter hosted a party thrown to celebrate Dolce & Gabbana joining the forever expanding list of brands on their virtual shelves.
