Jason Wu for Target GETS + 11 questions

Hey! Does anyone remember me out there? haha! Well it's not so funny I dropped off the blogosphere for so long, but I honestly had nothing to say. I didn't think that day would come so soon actually but that's just how my whole life is going right now. What should I do? What should I say?

Luckily the Jason Wu for Target capsule collection launched today and it gives me something concrete to report! (I wrote about the collection here earlier)

I wasn't one of the many many many people who lined up early or arrived right at opening time to get my hands on the items. But perhaps that was not a wise idea haha! All the scarves and bags were well sold out by 9:00am when I arrived!

Trying some items on! This skirt was only left in size 10 and 16. But I couldn't make the 10 work (normally a 4) which sucked as it was an item I rather wanted!

But in other parts of the country I guess everything was getting scooped up right away, and one of the big complaints amongst shoppers was the lack of buying limits. Luckily in Minnesota people are not so brand obsessed so I still could get a few items I liked. But many items on my wishlist were not stock, sold out or only left in the L and XL sizes TT

But here is what I picked up!

Sheer caplet blouse with dot print

They had tons of these dress, not popular? but it suited my tastes best^^

This cat is the mascot of the collection, but the T is already wrinkly just from being in a shopping bad DX

Lace large clutch

I was sooooooo lucky to get the clutch, like I said all accessories were gone right away. But one young woman put the clutch back as I was talking with an employee by the rack. I really wanted a bag and the caplet blouse so I'm satisfied!!

After the fun morning of fashion hunting Mom and me had brunch at Subway. We got a footlong Egg whites, cheese and ham breakfast sandwich for 5$ and shared it. I really recommend their breakfast sandwiches, as they are filling and low calorie XD

And since I've not blogged for a bit, I'll share the other items I've bought lately:

Lapel cardigan from Target and wrap dress from Express

A peplum shirt, and the perfect black dress - look at that great shape it creates!

And to wrap things up, I was tagged in a meme by the always always sweet Chiihime. It is the 11 Questions meme that has been going around. Though I often don't do memes, I thought this is a great opportunity to write and share a bit about myself^^ Thanks Chiihime!!

11 things about me:
1. I love food more now than I did before I lost weight.
2. Collecting things is a big hobby, I collect My Little Ponies, UFO catcher items, Super Dollfie, Manga, stationary etc.
3. I was actually considered a "gifted" child in elementary school and was in some special clubs for that.
4. Procrastination is key for me, I need a close deadline or pressure to motivate me.
5. I had surgery on my elbow to reconstruct it after shattering it by falling off the bottom of a slide.
6. The shortest amount of time I've worked a job was for 2 days at a pizza shop, then I quit!
7. The bathrooms in my Jr high and High school were so dirty I wouldn't use them, so I held it till I got home everyday.
8. I have more regrets in my life then I can tolerate, but I still feel so blessed to be born as who I am.
9. Some people I knew since Kindergarten were not my friends until high school.
10. From age 11 to 14 or so my dream job was to be a mangaka, and actually I drew several pictures everyday until I was 18.
11. I took swimming lesson all throughout my youth, swam constantly in the summers, but now swimming is an activity I find bothersome.

Chiihime's 11 questions:
1. What's your favorite make up item? Hmm, I guess eyeliner because you can define your eyes easily with a bit of liner, and create lovely wings/shapes with it!
2. When you need some inspiration for styling yourself, where do you search first? Shop staff blogs, they show the popular/new items of the shops but add their own tastes and ideas to them.
3. What color does describe your personality the best? Black. I think it's black because black is not well "understood" and is often perceived as mysterious. But it contains all the colors, and I like all colors haha.
4. What's your favorite sweet drink? That's hard! I never drink anything sweet. I used to like Shamrock (mint) milkshakes tho.
5. What matches you better: powder eyeshadow or cream eyeshadow? Why? Powder, because it's what I've always used, I'm most comfortable with it.
6. What's your favorite thing in your room? Another tough one. I have so much, I guess my bed, because it's most useful for sitting and sleeping.
7. What's the best way for you to laugh loudly? To watch America's Funniest Home Videos!
8. A place you would love to go, but you had never been before? That's most places XD I will say Versailles.
9. What's your favorite song? Last Song by Gackt.
10. How is your morning routine? Wakeup, bathroom routines, make tea, eat some fruit then check blogs.
11. Do you usually doll up yourself for going to work and/or school? If yes, please describe. No. I used to do my typical gal styled makeup and outfits for school.

Well since I am no good at thinking of questions, and I always feel villainous tagging people I will just answer the questions. I hope this will be the end of my little hiatus haha, but it depends all on my willpower!

After Xmas GETS and Glamor

Good evening everyone! I'm quite tired from sleeping badly last night, but its just part of being a woman haha. Today my dad came over, and I made a bit of a stink about it on Twitter because I didn't want to watch Avatar again. We watched the special collector's extended edition which was better than the theater release, my Dad gave it to me for Xmas last year I guess, but we didn't watch it till now.

Well I am glad to say I have fixed the error with photoshop, it was all because CS2 is 32 bit and I'm running a 64 bit system now haha, but it was an easy enough fix. So I was able to edit the pics of my after Christmas gets.

Here are some small items I bought on sale, well the F21 items weren't, but the Claire's items were just 1$ each. I picked up the Sugar Frosting and Cupcake shades of the Revlon Lip Butters. You can also see my new blanket, which I got for Christmas, as the background.

I got requests to see my gets on me, so here you go! Both are from the Jennifer Lopez collection.

And the Adventure Time DVD as a gift, it's my current favorite cartoon

Dolce & Gabbana pouch and leopard print slippers, both gifts

And this Dolce & Gabbana The One fragrance set was a Christmas gift from my friend. I really appreciate it because I love this scent. It was categorized as a "Glamorous" scent by Harper's Bazzar and that really struck me!

I began thinking, Glamorous is really what I would like my style to be. I think I have been heading that direction for awhile already with my purchases. To me glamor is clean lines, strong silhouettes, classic pieces with bold accessories and sexy touches. Most of my current favorite gyaru brands are categorized as Glamorous on FashionWalker as well haha.

So I put together a small collage of items I think would make my wardrobe more glamorous. I will also post a few pictures that are inspiration.

Xmas hauling, before during and after

Hey there friends, wow it's really over. Christmas has come and gone once again, its really quite a let down if I may say so. Christmas is my favorite holiday, it just gets harder and harder to enjoy it. Perhaps the constant stimulation from the internet makes it too hard to enjoy something simple and heartwarming like Christmas?

Well today I'm just going to write a boring braggy post because getting new things is always an easy thing to blog about, and that's basically what Christmas is all about now. I mean I know its not about materialism, but that's what its becoming.

Starting from Black Friday the merchants just make us feel we have to keep scrambling to buy more and more, to get the best bargain possible. So I will start with a couple things I got before Christmas:

I finally got a Clarisonic, everyone's getting one and it seems that everyone has good opinions of them. I've only used it a couple times because I have sensitive skin and I don't want to mess it up, so I haven't noticed any change.

Also picked up some new nail polishes - the black crackle top coat, some random colors and a free clear top coat. I got on the crackle train a bit late, but I'm still gonna use it!

Luckily I was pretty good curbing my spending and putting it toward gift buying the past month. I wish I could have bought more gifts for people though, I always get so much from my loved ones that I would like to reciprocate. Well that's all over now, so here is the Christmas haul:

These were my Christmas gifts to myself haha. I did spend some on myself :/ But everything together cost the same as the pants alone normally do after sales and coupons. From top left - Ivory lace tank, White miniskirt, Non-leather moto jacket and Skyscraper jeans. If you want jeans that slim and lengthen your legs I recommend Express's Skyscraper jeans.

Gifts from friends and family, from top left - 3 ponies, Jessica Simpson Beckery platforms, Zara black tote, Lighted makeup mirror, Sailor Moon manga, Burt's Bees hand salve, Jessica Simpson fragrance samples, Bath & Bodyworks fragrance oils, Philosophy Hope in a Jar, OPI Rainbow Connection and Excuse Moi nailpolishes, Eye makeup remove, TIGI dry shampoo, Lip Service bra cami.

Moving on, today was another huge shopping day apparently because the malls were nuts!! We tried to get to the Mall of America but the highways leading to it were all backed up and there were police directing traffic. So we went to some other malls and shopped more. I guess gifts are not enough to satisfy modern people, and they need to shop more after (I know it wasn't just returns either).

So here's was today's haul. These were really great deals, nothing cost more than 13$ haha! From left - H&M fringe cardigan, Bath & Bodyworks Apple Crumble candle, Matthew Williamson top, Free People bustier top, Bath $ Bodyworks Dark Kiss bodywash and lotion, Betsey Johnson wallet.

Well certainly that's more than enough for a month and a holiday right? Haha! I still have to exchange gifts with one more friend and then it's all over. I hope noone minds the bragging gets post. Its the last of Christmas posts for this year, so things will be back on track now.

We had a bonus shot of Micky last time, so now it's Rugby's turn. She looks very sweet but don't let it fool you!

Big shopping day at the Mall of America

Oh whew, hehe, I got my thesis almost totally done today! Just gotta clean up the references page, print it out and hand it in tomorrow evening. It's the last night of class ever for me (unless I go for a masters XP) and we are having a pot luck so I made oatmeal cookies drizzled with peanut butter chocolate.

I hope my classmates will like them, luckily there's only 15 of us in the thesis seminar, so I didn't have to make many. But this is just the beginning of our Christmas baking, me and mom plan to make a wide variety of cookies this weekend.

Another usual Christmas activity is shopping, it really is the biggest shopping time of the whole year. Usually it's for gifts to exchange on December 25th but yesterday we went out just to shop for fun and relaxing. A staff at some clothing shop told us 90% of the people she talked to that day were shopping for themselves, not gifts haha!

These giant Christmas bulbs are so cool!

The Mall of America always has lovely decorations for the season, so its very festive and fun just to walk around. Also they have recently remodeled several areas, with new tile and high-shops so it looks much nicer now. It's been so long since it opened TT it was time for some sprucing up.

There are lots of silver-y trees like this all over MoA
(and thats what I wore for the day)

We went to several shops we always frequent, plus some others we rarely shop at. One of the highlights was the Bettie Page store which features all retro style clothing from the 50s. Very cool to see something out of the normal trendy or casual clothing XD

Me and mom did a lot of window shopping, but the great thing was because we went in the middle of a week day there was quite a bit of elbow room^^

And this is one of two "main" trees in the rotunda, seems big right?

That's because they reach all the way to the forth level *O* there was a highschool band playing at that time

It was a long day of shopping, but it didn't wear me out at all so I would say it was a great day. Just enjoying the season, looking at nice things and checking out all the new things in a familiar place. Well here's what was purchased yesterday:

From bottom left: MAC Snowglobe palette in Sultry, MAC Desert Rose blush (m), Lorac Oh La Lace palette, Philosophy cleanser sample, black glitter pouch, copper color watch (m), Bath & Bodyworks Dark Kiss and White Citrus (m) body washes, and Fresh gift set (m).

The items marked with (m) are my mom's gets.

And my clothing gets (the stock photos are better than what I'd take). I also got a plain black shirt and bodycon Tshirt dress.

Well I really wanted the white colorway of the bare top but it wasn't in yet (I'll get it someday!) It was a fun day and I hope you also enjoyed seeing the decorations in Mall of America. A few more days of work from tomorrow then I have some truly free days to enjoy next week!

Catching up with the Gets train

I feel as if I'm accomplishing something amazing by posting in a row again haha! I'm getting a bit nervous about my time management and thesis, so the next couple of weeks I am not promising any great posts XD I work alot next week and 9 hours on Black Friday.

Argh, I'm so not looking forward to it. It will be the first time I work on Black Friday in a shop. Actually I think I have usually gotten out of it, even during my part time high school jobs haha. I would much much much rather go shopping than be selling!

I guess I will just have to be satisfied with the gets I've gotten in the past few weeks, and wait to do my Christmas shopping in December.

Cosmetics

I don't buy cosmetics so often because I like to stick with things I know work, and a lot of multiples of things (like 8 shades of blushes) just goes to waste.

Lorac Glosses: I got this set for 20.00$ because I had a coupon, how can you beat that. I'm not sure how the quality is yet, but I like Lorac foundation so let's see.
OPI Bling Dynasty: It's not orange like this photo at all, it's a great gold but its discontinued now haha.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind: This is the best dark circle conclearer I have ever tried, seriously. It's like I've never had dark circles when I use this haha.

I really like the little trend of turtlenecks, and I picked out a nice plum colored one, but it's not the easiest thing to use. I don't usually care about anything Target clothing, but this dress just has a really flattering cut good for workwear. The Ralph Lauren top I wanted alot because it was a basic black long T but with that cute D-ring detail.

I was able to get this Missoni x Target shirt. The print might be too bold for some but to me it's just right to wear with neutral work separates. I think I can wear this print into spring too^^ This Express skirt is on clearence now, but why hasn't it sold out sooner? Its short but not scandalous and its so easy to coordinate.

And just to let you in on the fashion scene here in Minnesota, I was even able to get the Missoni shirt on clearence. The floppy hat was on clearance too, glad to finally get one! No the Missoni collection did not sell out in 30 minutes over here. Alot did sell out that day to be fair tho.

These are my H&M gets, which I got this past weekend. I was able to take advantage of the bogo free knitwear with the black pullover and white knit onepiece. And I love them!! The gold onepiece and metallic knit top really feed into my gold love atm, I'll be sad when spring rolls around and the blingy trend dies out TT

Oh! And I had to get these new pleather shorts because the details are so nice. A step up from my last pair.

Didn't I just say I love the gold, metallic and sequin trend. 2 gold cuffs, large gold cross and metallic tights are my accessory purchases^^

So enough of my crazy consumerist rantings! I'll do my best to keep blogging, the next couple of weeks will be hectic, but next month... Man I hope the holidays bring some calm and peace!

Fashion being a distraction (gets)

Oh man, today was a low productivity day again. That's such a professional way to put it huh? Well I have never been one to get alot done, but I don't really have the time in my life left to be such a wastrel DX I know I will start working again soon, but there's so much more I should/can be doing.

Today I found out I missed a step of my graduation ceremony process: it made me really guilty and realize how many things I let pass me by. Aren't so many other people getting on with their lives and figuring out what they want to do/be?

I spend so much time just looking at fashion now... browsing online shops, staff blogs, magazines, TV shows. It's just that I am an observer, and not a participant that is the problem. I'm not really sure how I can make my interest in fashion productive for me atm, but that is an important step for me.

Well beyond observing fashion, I've been buying it up a bit recently. My current goal is to get away from Forever21 and get into better quality items. Although its a dangerous move for someone in my income bracket XD Anyhow, here's what I've bought recently:

The Express top is actually not so bright red irl
And I am excited for the metallics, glitter, shine thats coming up for winter

These aren't particularly high cost, but all have great details!
I love the gold necklace, its big simple and bold^^

This maxi skirt and blue shirt are so comfortable to wear, like seriously!
And this is the best leopard cardi I've found outside of Japan so far

Mocassin pumps, and leopard pumps

Since yesterday I've really started liking Egoist especially, I mean I always liked it but now it's rank as increased haha. I really like simple, versatile but bold pieces currently.

Speaking of good brands, I was extremely lucky enough to win Shop n' Chomps recent giveaway!! Oh my god, it was so exciting because I had a good feeling and then I actually had good luck *o* The wonderful prize was a Missoni for Target train case!!

Prizes from Shop n Chomp

The train case can hold so much

But I was not expecting all the other items, isn't she so generous. Really, I almost cried when I opened the bag and there was all these lovely and cute things inside. (there was also candy but I forgot to snap them) Please check out Shop n Chomp and support her, because she is so sweet and writes really interesting posts!

Also I want to mention - the Peter Thomas Roth Botanical Buffering Beads sample she included was amazing! It made my face feel so cleansed and fresh. I'm going to buy a full size one for sure.

Birthday gets, already building a wishlist

As I mentioned in my previous post that my birthday was pretty disappointing but there were a few things that were nice. My mom did try her best to make it as good as she could, though there was not much she could do. She bought some balloons after I got emotional, and she gave me some gifts.

She picked these balloons and star dangly things, which are really my taste

I opened the gifts early in the morning before I had to go and do work. They were items I had asked for specifically so I was happy to receive things I know I would use, but she also picked out some surprises because she says its not fun to receive only things you already know about. But I have two minds on that, what if you get something really wrong for a person haha!

Well here are the items that I got on my birthday:

Booties from Dollhouse (they have thick heels)

Various nice things!

I received these red pumps from my best friend, so classic!

Of course being thoroughly brainwashed by my capitalistic society, I immediately start thinking about getting more things haha. Well that's not entirely true, some of these things I have wanted for awhile. This is my wishlist for when I get another job.

My taste in fashion has really gone mode gal, I think its so exciting. It's not costumey as other gal styles can come off as, and its always evolving - feels fresh. So I am now looking at better brands, and thinking about items that have interesting cuts and don't rely on garish details. Anyway, wishlist!

W*C's leopard sweater,
it's sooo charming with its leopard spots made of W and C letters!
Oh sold out online, but perhaps I'll get it someday!

Super obsessed with Murua's stark graphic ts right now. This is my most favorite atm, I'm going to get one but the Tshirt fair items are so reasonable.

This cocoon coat from Vila, Murua has a similar one but this is more accessible and would fit my build better.

This wrap around belt from ASOS also is something I've wanted for awhile, I like the definition this kind of belt can give.

And lastly this dress from Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse. By reviews the material seems a bit flimsy, but the cut is just so dramatic!
