JewelClub's Sample Sale Goes Old School

INTERIOR - WOMAN'S CLOSET - EARLY  MORNING:

The telltale signs of a true fashionista litter the landscape. Racks of Chanel and DKNY finds mingle with McQueen and Miu Miu. Vintage jewelry, costume creations and fine gems light up the joint like a Christmas tree on crack.

A mash-up of the "Rocky Theme Song" and "I Will Survive" BLASTS in the background.

As the music reaches its crazy crescendo, we CLOSE UP on a leggy fashion-type doning riot gear.

SSG WHIPS OUT her notepad and goes through her battle-ready checklist:

1. Super Secret Sample Sale invite? Check.
2. Oversized shopping bag? Check.
3. Pepper spray for the pushy girls? Check.
4. Debit card? Check, check...and check.

With one final tighten of her shin guards, SSG whisks off into the cool morning air -  the lingering promise of sample sale success lighting her way. And her soul.

And...SCENE.

This was sample sale shopping in the (not so distant) past, right? When secret invitations were as important as the designer castoffs that awaited the organized and the determined. These days? Sample sales aren't, well, quite so romantic. Or competitive. Until now.

You all know I love my JewelClub treasure chest. So when news hit that they're throwing a secret couture-level sample sale like the good old days? I had to spead the news to my fellow jewelry hounds.

So here's the skinny. Tomorrow, they're sending out secret invitations with a link to the page with one-of-a-kind high-end styles at up to (drumroll...) 80 - 90% off.

This is so pepper-spray-worthy, people.

ALL of you sample sale sirens need to get your riot gear ready (you can sign up for the Deal Alert invite here - or check back with me tomorrow). And anyone you know who has a big jewelry purchase coming up should follow your lead. This is holiday season. It's time to get serious - and this merch is gonna move.

I'm getting a sneak peak at some of the styles later today - and I'll post my favs on Twitter for you. Stay tuned! And good luck!

JewelClub Masters 'The Art of the Deal'

Used to be the words 'jewelry' and 'sale' were the oil and water of the marketing world. The common wisdom was: folks just wouldn't want to buy discounted diamonds and gems, fearing they were somehow tainted or 'damaged goods'.

But they were wrong. So wrong.

Unlike a four-carton pile-on at the all-you-can-eat buffet, there is no shame in the jewelry deal. Now, every jewelry outlet - from mall retailers and department stores to mom & pop shops and online e-tailers - offers sales, discounts and the grand-daddy of 'em all: wholesale jewelry.

Enter: JewelClub.

What was once a 'password-protected' Friends and Family site for a large fine jewelry manufacturer offering 70-80% off retail (yes, you're reading that right), is now open to all us huddled masses yearning to bling free.

And in the great Donald Trump "Art of the Deal" tradition - they now have a "Deal of the Day" feature, where they offer one item every 24 hours for an even lower price. Sometimes it's a colorful cocktail ring. Sometimes it's gold hoops. Sometimes it's a bridal piece. Sometimes it's a brown diamond cat pendant. I could go on...But it's always worth a look.

I just check their Facebook Page or their homepage for a quick glimpse every morning, and then go about my business.

So frugalistas and jewelry hounds, there's really no reason to pay retail when it comes to fine jewelry anymore. There are, of course, still reasons to hide our heads in shame (Jersey Shore marathon, anyone?). Luckily - buying fine jewelry at a discount is no longer one of them.

Now go out there and make 'The Donald' proud.

JewelClub Gets A Face-Lift

JewelClub, as you all know, is my favorite 'friends and family' site offering crazy discounts on fine jewelry to folks who are invited. All of my readers can get on their 'list' (read more to find out how) - and now there's an even better reason:

They just re-launched with a new look and tons of sexy new product!

I just trolled through the new offerings, and found these three oval-shaped pieces that I've officially added to my wish list (at 70-80% off suggested retail price):

But they've got everything from engagement rings and pearl strands to cocktail rings and blingy bangles. AND they offer free shipping with EVERY purchase.

I don't like to 'sell' jewelry often, but this place is too good to pass up. Especially in this economy. So if you haven't checked it out already, do these four things:

1. Go to www.jewelclub.com
2. Enter your email address
3. Enter this special 'friends and family' code: INSIDER
4. Shop, shop, shop!

Despite my dreams to the contrary, buying jewelry is rarely an everyday occurrence - but at these prices it could actually come close. So check out their new look and all the great new product and let me know what you think.

Here's to shiny things!

Affordable Engagement Rings

Buying a diamond engagement ring can be the most important (and stressful) jewelry purchase you can make. While the standard protocol requires fellas to shell out two months' salary, for many folks that's about as realistic as finding true love on "The Bachelorette".

So what do you do when you want to tie the knot without breaking the bank? Some thoughts:

1. Vintage Value

Diamond divas never utter the word 'used'. It's vintage, dahling - and there are many deals to be had in this diamond engagement ring category. Plus you can satisfy the 'eco-friendly' urge since you're buying a rock that's already in the coffers. But be careful to have it appraised before you pull the trigger.

2. Color Your World

This is my favorite emerging engagement ring trend - wearing a gemstone instead of a diamond. Prince Charles gave a stunning sapphire to Diana back in the day and now millions of women are wearing their favorite colored stone instead of the traditional white ice.

I found this stunning sapphire ring on sample sale site, JewelClub - originally $859 now (gulp) only $231.48 with their crazy discount (use the code: INSIDER to become a free 'friends and family' member).

3. Shop Clearance

With a little time and a creative eye, anyone can find a deal so great they'll be telling that story to friends and fam instead of how Jimmy popped the question. While there are a host of credible outlets for discount diamonds, check out JewelClub first. This classic pear-shaped ring is $462.74 down from $2129. Yowza.

4. Palladium: "The Other White Metal"

No longer the forgotten step-child of the precious metal world, palladium is emerging from the shadows as a (MUCH) more affordable option than gold. It looks like platinum or white gold - but it costs much less per ounce. And it's just as durable.

This 1/2carat palladium solitaire on JewelClub is only $572 down from $2649.

So what have we learned? Clearly some engagement rings traditions are meant to be broken - especially in this economy. You really can find a ring you love that doesn't cost the equivalent of a small sedan.

Here's to true love, diamond deals...and more room in the budget for an island honeymoon with fruity cocktails! Happy Friday the 13th, jewelry hounds!

JewelClub Vault Sale Specs - 25% Off Wholesale

As promised, here are a few of the incredible deals you can steal on JewelClub for the next few days. I wrote about their Vault Sale on Monday but wasn't privy to the styles they are featuring. They published the 18 pretties today and here are a few of my favs:

Diamond Studs. They're like a good bra - every girl needs 'em, right? These were originally priced at $229 and are $51.09 until Monday. 'Nuff said.

Bridal Bling. Anyone shopping for an engagement ring/wedding band combo would be loathe to miss this offering. White gold is 'in' and the 1 and 3/8 ct. design has a vintage feel to it. The price is what's really incredible: $804.41 down from $3949.

Finally, I'm loving these chocolate diamond hoops. Combining two trends in one (hoops and colored diamonds), JewelClub is crazy to give these away for just $295 (down from $1429).

But then again, "Crazy sells", according to NY Housewife, Kelly Bensimon.

You usually have to have an invite to shop the sales, but if you follow my lead, you can get in on the savings with all the rest of the JewelClubers:

1. Click on any piece in this announcement: JewelClub Vault Sale
2. Enter your email
3. Use the Access Code: INSIDER

And you're good to go.

I think I've said enough, but I will leave you with these two parting words: Shipping included.

Get on it, jewelry hounds!
