Asher Levine | Fall Winter 2012

ASHER LEVINE transformed the Jefferson Market Library and drew audiences into his world for his Fall/Winter 2012 collection presentation. The collection continues to build on established motifs and iconography, developing a language for which to communicate the world he envisions. Makerbot’s newest 3D Printer, The Replicator, live-printed the sunglasses the models were wearing.

Asher's Designs and Creativity With every Season combines pure fantasy with the raw edginess of New York’s streets. It is rare to find a designer who cannot only create beautiful clothing but is also a true showman, where the runways become about far more than the clothing presented. Every Show Asher Levine creates speaks a different story about fashion,His Presentation was so unique and full of inovation !! We really Loved his use of live-printed sunglasses by Makerbot’s 3D Printer. He is a true visionary.

It is rare to find a designer who cannot only create beautiful clothing but is also a true showman, where the runways become about far more than the clothing presented. Asher Levine does exactly that. His Show today was full of futuristics & Strong Use of Neoprene, Showing at New York Fashion Week , he combines pure fantasy with the raw edginess of New York’s streets.

Asher Levine debuted his Spring/Summer 2012 runway show to a capacity audience at the BoConcept showroom (105 Madison Ave. New York, NY) on Saturday, September 10, 2011. The fourth collection, Stage.118, celebrates the designer’s continued maturity as he conceptualizes a world from which to draw inspiration. The theme of the collection builds on past motifs and established iconography and retains Levine’s affliction with exploring a biological thriller.

The collection, much like the designer, has become more refined and edges closer to a tailored subversive subtlety. Levine maintains his fascination with challenging and expanding established understanding of fashion beyond practicality to a conceptual expression of culture, politics, and identity. The clothes at one stage are utilitarian and sporty, but evolve to become spine-y, timorous creatures with sculpted wear and accessories by Tyson Talbert.

The runway looks was styled by Andrew Mukamal Amazing stylist one of our favorite ,you can check out his daily Looks Here

Asher Levine | Nicola Formichetti's Pop-Up Shop

The world that Asher Levine conceptualizes provides a fertile ground for his imagination to run wild and his designs to take shape. This collection, grounded in very real influences and inspirations, is most approachable-to-date and yet, retains Levine’s wondrously weird aesthetic, which he has become known for. The defining factor evident this season is the designer’s evolution and maturity both in his artistry and clothing sensibility.

Levine, a boy out of Port Charlotte, FL arrived in New York (not too long ago) to complete a degree in Managerial Entrepreneurship at Pace University, understanding that fashion, just like any other industry, is fundamentally a business. Shortly after graduating and with little over a decade of design experience, he started his eponymous label out of his basement in the West Village. It wasn’t long before his luridly edgy menswear designs took root in the community.

Consistent with his previous collections, his work wrecks havoc with the theme of organicism in fashion. The work, often heavily influenced by the natural world, not only flirts with the ideas of the visceral, but also, takes an explorative stance on the human figure and its condition. His seductive designs are in a constant state of flux between: fluidity and rigidity; beauty and disfigurement; abstraction and form; darkness and lightness.

As a result, his clothes often spectacularly engineered are just that, a spectacle, which in many ways have led him to attain both a cult-like underground following and a strong celebrity clientele with the likes of: Lady GaGa, The Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars, and the Scissor Sisters, just to name a few. However, it is this commercial line, originally dreamed about by a 10-year old boy, that is becoming the star and not merely due to his clientele.

Asher Levine's fourth collection for Spring/Summer 2012 to be shown at New York Fashion Week, taps into the socio-political zeitgeist, as it centers on the theme of a spreading epidemic in a city-society much like our own. The plague, unable to be contained, soon affects exponentially until forced militarization of society becomes the last stand to combat the infection and its growth. This scenario in the strictest interpretation is not of a time detached from our own, which becomes a gateway to an alternate reality where Levine can play.

Asher Levine debuts exclusive merchandise at the Nicola pop-up shop scheduled to open on September 9Th. at 57 Walker Street in Tribeca during New York Fashion Week. Asher Levine is one of the chosen designers to be featured at the store. The  pop-up will carry a selection of pieces from Levine’s mainline collection in addition to the exclusive collaboration between Asher  and Nicola. The exclusive collection consists of handmade, technically dyed t-shirts made of natural fibers for an audience of various price-points. The exclusive t-shirt collection is handcrafted in New York City and was made in limited production for the sole purpose of the pop-up store.

We are Really Edger to See Asher's SS 2012, His unique and unexpected designs never fails to excite us with amazing Creations and new objects to desire.
