OOTD Feeling Tweet! New Look Inspire Swallow Dress!

Evenin' lovelies!

So, it's nearly Xmas and we're all spending our hard earned pennies on all those lovely gifts to make our loved ones happy, well, kind of. I had a little splurge yesterday in my current favourite place to shop, New Look Inspire. I don't really know what came over me? Oh actually, yeh I do, pretty dresses and cute shoes on sale, what self respecting girl can resist?

So I purchased the really cute Swallow Print Dress and I am a little bit in love with it. I wore it out last night for some Kissmas drinks with my Grand Theatre crew, little bit sad that I didn't get chance to take it dancing as it was a school night and I did have to be at work at 8am this morning, so it made a swift exit with me after 2 bottles of wine and lots of giggles!

I was a bit rushed for time getting ready as I felt a bit guilt ridden after treating myself, so I promptly went and bought pressies for other people, see I am a good girl really! So I ended up throwing the dress on with black tights, my fave, ultra comfy New Look suede wedges, the belt nicked off my other recent New Look Inspire purchase as seen here and some old accessories I've had for agessssssssssss!!! Looks alright I reckon, what you think? (Please excuse the outgrowing Gelux nails, getting them redone this weekend!)

I also picked up 2 pairs of cute flats in wide fit for bargain prices this cute red patent bow pair and a nude pink pair with sparkly toes which I can't seem to find online but I will get pics for ya!

I also recently mentioned on my Twitter that I was after a pair of leopard print leggings. I found a pair a fab leopard jeggings in the Inspire range, I had previously noticed them online but disregarded them as I thought they would never fit me in the waist, but I was surprised when I spotted them in store and tried them on to find that they are super stretchy, a great print, but unfortunately they aren't fitted enough in the leg for me, they fit perfectly at the waist in a size Uk 26 (which I am blatantly larger than) but they are too baggy in the thigh and leg, so I am going to be returning them :( *booooooooooo* just goes to show how diverse we all are in shape!

Anyway, it's nearly 11pm on Christmas eve, eve! I am currently bopping around my kitchen to random tunes including this little number that has got me right in the festive mood! My 2011 Christmas tune pick, The Waitresses, Christmas Wrapping! Enjoy.....

OOTD Simple Sunday Stripes! New Look Inspire Skater Dress!

Evenin' All!

I realise I have been a little on the quiet side. I have been busy doing Christmassy type things and catching up with special people!

Last weekend I headed down to the capital to do some festive partying with my favourite southerners! In the midst of shopping for party frocks in good ol' Vivien of Holloway on Saturday afternoon, we discovered we all had Monday off, which was an excuse to do some Sunday night drinking!

I had only really taken enough to wear for Saturday evening and travelling home on Sunday night so I took a trip to Brent Cross with my Lorna face friend and picked up this little stripey skater number from New Look Inspire....

Biker Jacket - Evans
Shoes, Necklace, Earrings - Primark
Too many apple sourz shots - Priceless!!!!!

I love cute little skater cut dresses, and I was really pleased to see that the sweet salmon pink skinny belt which came with the dress actually fit! I have bought items from New Look Inspire in the past which have included belts which have never fit me, even though the actual garment is properly sized, so a welcomed surprise to find that this one actually did! As I was a bit thin on clothes I just kept it simple with some black leggings, my little pointy diamante Primark flats and some Primark bling! Simple Sunday Stripes!

I have to say I am quite the fan of New Look Inspire, and have been for a long time. I know, the range isn't necessarily groundbreaking but it is one of the few places I can usually always find something I like. I would like to see the sizing of the range extended, lots of stretchy jersey fabrics make it possible for me to wear this range which caters up to a UK size 26, although I am blatantly larger than that, but I would love to see it cater to a UK 28-30 (heres hoping!). I would also love to see the range promoted more, I find that New Look as a brand pretty much ostracises it's Inspire label and very rarely plugs it via its social media outlets or through its own in house advertising. The use of plus size bloggers would really push Inspire I feel. I know of recent, a few plus size bloggers have been contacted by the Inspire buying team to provide feedback on the range, heres hoping their opinions are utilised so we can see a positive change to the range so it lives on!

In the meantime, I still love you Inspire! :)

Big Love!

Have a 'hoppin' new year!

Hola Blogosphere!!!

Did you all have very merry Christmas's? I hope so! Ive finally had an evening off work and thought Id drop you a line just so you know Im alive and well and because I just like randomly chatting at anyone who will listen (or read)! I had a lovely Xmas day, well from what I remember. I was itching to post an OOTD but I unfortunately got a little bit drunk and fell asleep before I had chance to get anyone to snap me! Nevermind! I got bought lots of nice things from my family and also got some vouchers, which I cant wait to spend but Im waiting for the new season stuff to come in as I always end up buying tat in the sales which I never wear! I am also looking forward to my second Christmas day and present opening with Mr Naomi on Friday, heres hoping he's got me lots of nice things too! *wink wink*

Anyway, I promised I was going to post a really awesome retro, 50's inspired outfit a few weeks ago so here it finally is! On my recent girls night out in London, my lovely Miranda friend wore an AMAZING 50's vintage inspired, pinup dress. She received so much attention over it that I asked if she minded if I blogged about it. I know a lot of women, myself included, who love the whole glitz and glam which I feel is embodied in 50's style. Here is Miranda in her gorge Vivien of Holloway red dress pictured with another of one of my very beautiful friends Lorna...

Miranda's Outfit:

Red & Black Polka Dot Halterneck Circle Dress - £69 Vivien of Holloway

Matching Bolero - £25 Vivien of Holloway

Red Stretch Waisted Belt - £14 Vivien of Holloway

Lorna's Outfit:

Faux Fur Shrug - £70 French Connection @ ASOS

Black Dress - Thrifted @ Big Bum Jumble

Miranda's dress was from the Vivien of Holloway store located on Holloway Road in London, but there is an extensive collection of 50's inspired reproduction dresses on the stores website. What you also can't see pictured in the photographs is the beautiful petticoat which is being worn underneath the dress, also from Vivien of Holloway for £59, layers of beautiful tulle fabric which really gives the dress that oomph! I love all the individuality within all of my friends, and Miranda is absolutely no exception, she's definately no shrinking violet who would never get overlooked, as she puts it...

'My style? 50's 'At the hop' as much as I can do [...] generally just going balls to the wall as much as I can with a bit of bespoke boutique thrown in'.

I love how daring and individual her look is and being able to find gorgeous vintage inspired pieces in plus size is an absolute WIN! Vivien of Holloway's range goes up to a UK size 24, but please check their size chart, as Im guessing due to the tailoring of the garments their sizing may vary from more mainstream retailers.

I also absolutely loved Lorna's gorgeous faux fur shrug from French Connection @ ASOS! A bit on the pricey side, but definitely an investment piece! Lorna told me it is actually a UK size 14, but she thought she would try it anyway (Lorna ranges from a UK size 16-20'ish on top, I hope Im right?) but she wanted to point out that this is...

'...proof that it's always worth giving something a go to see if it works for you.'

Also while we are talking about my luscious red headed friend, just a little plea for all you lovely boys and girls to please go and vote for her if you have a spare minute in the Plus Size Tall Model search competition. Its just a quick sign up and a little clickety click! She is a beautiful girl, with a real healthy outlook on the whole size debate, intelligent and articulate, a great role model for plus size women, she also looks after me a lot *D'awwwwwww* so....

*VOTE FOR LORNA HERE*

So I think thats about it for the mo, but I cant wait to post about all the bits and pieces I will probably end up buying in the next few days (yeh I know I said I was staying away from the sales but I know Ill end up with something!) Oh and dont forget that discount is still valid over at Plus Size Tights.com until the 3rd of January, just enter 'diamondsnpearls' at the checkout!

In a bizzle guys...

BIG LOVE AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

<3

Because you're never to old....

Well guys...

Only 3 sleeps to go until Santa baby arrives and what do you know, the sales have already started! Ive been having a nosey around Yours Clothing and at the moment their sale is pretty amazing. But while taking a nosey around other areas of their site I noticed my WANT WANT WANT, so Santa, if you are taking last minute orders, Ive been a good girl, please add this to my list...

Disney Print Sweater - Yours £18

Its just such an adorable little piece which I have a million ways in my head right now that I can picture wearing it! If Santa dosent bring it for me, maybe Mr Naomi will?!? ;)

Whats on your wish lists girls?!

My little pink Christmas dress!

Evening guys,

So like I said Id be back to give you a photo update of how I managed to style up the little pink Evans Jacquard dress. I loved the dress from the moment I clapped eyes on it back on the press release pics months ago, but one of the main problems that I had was picturing it all dressed up. I love choosing items but when I do I always struggle for ages to picture how Im going to wear them, accessorise them etc etc. Anyway in the end I managed to put a little number together after a mad dash rush around Birmingham in a last minute panic after they who shall not be named *cough cough* Simply Be failed to actually deliver my dress after they had assured me on the phone, that day, that it would be with me that afternoon. Anyway, I suppose it worked out for the best that it didnt arrive as I ended up feeling really great in the outfit I put together...

White Cropped Cardigan - New Look Inspire Summer 2008

Pink Peeptoe Bow Shoes - Primark £6 (Wide Fit)

Pearly Headband - Primark £2.50

Pearly Necklace - Primark Spring 2010

Antique Style Elasticated Pearl Bracelet - H&M £2.99

I havent looked that girly since I was about 9 years old, but I have to admit I felt ultra pretty in the outfit. I am so in love with the dress and am now so pleased that I purchased it, I braved bare legs and I got over my boob issue with it in the end too. The shoes were great too, a perfect little mid-heel in a wide fit which were comfortable to dance the night away in, they were marked up at £10 but when I got them too the checkout they were only £6, a great little bargain I feel, I also dressed it up with a mid size mock croc skin metallic gold clutch bag also from Primark for £6. I have a work Xmas night out this coming Saturday too and Im very tempted to wear the same outfit again...Hmmmmmmm decisions, decisions! What do you think guys?!

Big Love <3

Playing Dress up...*Warning hugeeeeeee post, Enjoy*

Oi oi!

How are we all this cold December evening?

I know I have been a little slow on the posting just recently but as I said before I have been a very busy lady. I finally had a week off this week and I have been catching up with an estranged loved one. I have also, had some time to do some mooching around the shops and paid a trip to the fabulous German Xmas Market in Birmingham which is a short train ride away from me! Me and Mr Naomi went for a wander around the beautifully lit up streets of Brum, all wrapped up warm (in seemingly matching biker jackets *lol*) drinking hot mulled cider, and indulging in yummy, warm candied almonds. It was a beautifully cold evening, and it all felt very Christmassy and lush. So I thought Id post the outfit I had thrown on as my second outfit of the day post! *Squee*

Checked Longline Shirt - Evans Summer 2009

Longline Beige Vest Top (Underneath Shirt) - H&M B&B £7.99

Black Shrug - Old Chapter range from MKone Years ago!

Boots - Evans £45

Sparkly Beanie Hat - Primark

We went early on in the daytime and managed to get a nosey around the Bullring and a select few places that I had been meaning to pop into for a while. I had chance to finally visit the new Birmingham Forever 21 store, but amidst the excitement I have to say, I came away rather disappointed. I headed firstly for the F21 plus range which was located underneath the stairs in a tiny dark corner of the store (surprise surprise). There were probably around 40 items in total and I can honestly say only one drew my eye which was a knitted cobalt blue v-neck tunic dress. I have to admit, it was a nice, yes just nice dress, but nothing to really write home about, and after closely inspecting the garment it was very poorly made definitely not worth the nearly £22 price tag (not a lot I know, but for poorly made awful material its not gonna happen!) After the disappointing mooch around the plus section I made my way upstairs to the shoes and accessories floor. In the past, when visiting F21 in the USA I have always loved their accessories range and in the case of the UK store I was equally impressed. The whole floor was sparkly and bright and laid out like a boutique bedroom, with trinkets dripping from wall fittings, in ornate bowls on beautiful tables and tonnes of mirrors around for you to try on and play dress up. I spotted about 3 very pretty headbands all reasonably priced around £3-£5 and lots of *bling bling* costume jewellery which I will be popping back for. My last disappointment though was their shoe section, I can honestly say I walked up to it, skimmed around it and walked off, nothing caught my eye long enough to keep me entertained with the area so off I went....

Anyway, after hitting up F21 I headed over to Birmingham's main Evans store. This has to be my favourite Evans store. It has 2 floors and is usually always stocked with most of the items on the website. I have been hankering over their Pink Jacquard Dress which was featured in their 'BIBA' collection a few months ago and when it was finally released it was included in one of my very first blog posts 'Frock Me' as one of my favourite party wear items this season. As soon as I got into the store, I quickly located the dress and headed off to the changing rooms and here are a few sneaky snaps....(P.S yes I have had another new hair do hehe)

Pink Jacquard Dress - Evans (Currently online for £25!!)

Black Biker Jacket - Evans

Sparkly Beanie - Primark

I have to say, I absolutely loved the dress I was in no way disappointed except for the fact that the size I tried on was far too tight around my bust and when I sized up it was too big everywhere else *sigh*. I tried it on with leggings, the Evans boots in which I posted about in a previous post and I tried it in the first 2 pics as you can see with my Evans biker jacket and in the last pic with just a short black shrug. I honestly only ever imagined the dress as serious party wear as its so pretty and delicate but when I put the jacket over the top I looked at the casual kinda grungey look it gave the dress and I really loved it. I showed it to the BF and he also said how great it looked dressed down which made me realise how versatile the dress is. The straps on the dress are adjustable which I thought was great and the material was really feminine and floaty but fell beautiful to create a lovely shape. I really do love this dress. I havent purchased it, but after just seeing it online at an even lower price I am so tempted. Seriously girls, go try it on, even if you think it may be too girly for you or you could only wear it to go out in, you can see how easily it can be dressed down to get more wear from it!

On a sadder note, the dress I posted previously about from eBay which I was intending on wearing to this weekends BGP Xmas Party arrived and isnt suitable *sigh* its more like a top than a dress and wasnt the size it was advertised as. I am rather annoyed but I suppose thats the risk you take with eBay. On an even sadder note, I have had to panic order 2 dresses from SimplyBe. Now if any of you follow me on Twitter you may have noticed a couple of angry tweets from me aimed at SimplyBe. In the past 2 weeks I have made orders with them and paid for Next Day Delivery and both times the item hasnt arrived next day. I understand the snow etc etc, but I have managed to receive parcels from other retailers on time so why are SimplyBe an exception? I was supposed to receive my panic/backup dresses today but they havent shown after spending like nearly £7 on special delivery, so heres hoping they arrive tomorrow, otherwise there is going to be a very angry email heading to SimplyBe's inbox from me! Grrrrrrr *rant over* so as it stands I am without an outfit for Saturday night, whats a girl to do?!?!

Anyway I dont want to end my first post in a while on a bad note so Im going to mention some awesome things going on that are making me smile loads and making me very happy that I started to blog. First of all, I had a lovely couple of Tweets from the lovely Kat over at one of my fave blogs Plus Size Beauty! and from the also fab Lauren from the must read Pocket Rocket Fashion inviting me to attend a blogger meet in February which is currently being organised (Deets over at Pocket Rocket Fashion) I cant wait to meet some of the other girls rockin' the UK Fatshion Community!

Also this afternoon I received an email from one of my favourite online magazines Plus Model Magazine asking if I minded if they used one of my OOTD images for a blog post they were doing. So as soon as its up I will post over here! So pleased!

So I think thats all for today folks, please follow me and comment and keep in contact, I really love to see that people are coming along. I will leave you with one more snap. Me and Mr Naomi in Bham....

A few musings for this week....

Im so so so busy right now guys its ridiculous! I just cant win! *sigh*

For those of you who dont know me, *I am Naomi and I am a workaholic* lol, well no, but I do have 2 jobs. By day I am a nursery nurse and early years worker and I have to say I absolutely LOVE my job! I work for an education supply agency at the moment where I have been placed temping in a local college nursery. I have been there for a couple of months now and love my days there working with their toddlers. They are so much fun and make everyday different. A lively little bunch who forever keep me on my toes and I adore them all! I will be a very sad girly when the time comes when they no longer need me *sigh*.

By night and weekends I work in a theatre, which is also so much fun. I work front of house at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, we have some great shows and its such a priveledge being able to see so much theatre on a regular basis. Fast approaching us is panto season, *ohhhhhhh yes it is!* we have the fabulous Christopher Biggins as our lead this year and I am absolutely bursting to meet him! I hope he is as nice in real life as he is on T.V, otherwise my world is gonna be so sad! I also heard on the grapevine a few days ago that we have a massive star coming to do a show with us in February! Matthew Lewis who plays the character of Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter movies will be with us in our yearly Agatha Christie fix, this year its a play called 'Verdict'. I have to say every year that they come I absolutely LOVE the Agatha Christie shows which we get but this time I am even more excited to see it arrive! Roll on Feb!!!

But yeh, with all of this, life as Naomi is pretty busy, I do 8 hour days at nursery then most nights and weekends I go straight to work at the theatre. I cant complain though, it keeps me and my shopping addiction very, very happy for the moment! I have purchased so much stuff just recently! I am currently on the hunt for my awesome Big Girls Paradise outfit for their Xmas event on December 11th! I think I may have stumbled upon an awesome dress from eBay, heres a pic...

I am awaiting its arrival then I shall get some pics up! What do you think?

I really cant wait to do another OOTD but Ive literally lived in my uniform over the past few weeks! Ive had so much new stuff of recent and it just hasnt seen the light of day! Also I have a week off on the 6th December where I am hoping to get round to having a massive clear out and eBay sale! Keep an eye out!

Ohhhhh a quick favour, do any of you lovely ladies have any recommendations for a good lash glue?!?! I usually use the ones which come with the lashes but they arent very good the majority of the time! Help?

Until next time guys...Big Love <3>
