Made some big ol' pants + care package!

Good evening everyone! I really appreciate the comments that I got on my nature post earlier today, I know it may not have given that much inspiration for commenting so its especially nice to see your kind words! Today was fairly long but I did accomplish a few things.

Earlier this week my made me some pants at my request. We had already begun working on our Halloween costumes so I guess I was in the mood to make some more clothing! I had some crushed velour laying about from a previous Halloween costume and rather than let it languish forever I thought "Let's make some wide pants!"

I was inspired by velvet wide pants I've seen from Murua, and honestly I know these may put some people off but I find them charming somehow XD It's also really nice to have your own made clothing. Maybe it will sound silly but I put self made clothes (of decent quality) up there with designer clothes haha!!






After taking these photos of the pants, I went and saw Contagion with my mom for her B-day (a day late but less people during the week!) Its disturbing in it's reality so you feel a bit empty when you leave the theater TT But when I got home I found a package - from Thanh Thao!

I'm sorry the chocolate got squished a bit Thanh Thao but it is so cute anyhow X3 And the ponies!! It's such a sweet and thoughtful gift, I began collecting ponies again earlier this year and gifts that are so thoughtful really brighten the day. Well gotta get a couple more things so I can send a care package back to Thanh Thao^^

Slumber party-a-rama!

Thank you everyone for your patience with me, the weekends are always a bit busier for me since its the only time I can really hang out with my friend. And this past weekend was even busier than usual because I had a super fun meetup then slumber party with my good friend Hana.

I tried this 0kcal vitamin drink on the train to the meetup, I recommend it!

It was quite rainy in the morning as I was getting ready so I figured I would wear a simple outfit with sneakers to save myself from any discomfort (I have a weird thing about rain/water getting on my feet) but after I got off the train it had become sunny out. Oh well!

I got there a bit early at our meeting point in Shibuya and did a little shopping at Forever21. I picked up a cheap "yellow tag" belt for 400 yen and the biggest ring I could find and went to meet Hana. We then started a tiny shopping spree, well much was looked at XD

We went to H&M so I could return a belt (yeah after I bought one, but I wanted to save some money haha) luckily they had an english speaking staff, otherwise they wouldn't let me return the tagless belt (tagless when I bought it). Hana got a swimsuit!

We got some gelato to share, pistachio, hazelnut and mango, no pic but I assure you it was good haha. Then we wondered back towards 109 after stopping in Seibu and some other random shop. I spotted Tsubasa a couple places around Shibuya, so I snapped her.

Then we shopped for a couple or few hours in 109, it was sooo fun XD Hana was trying to find the right pair of olive hued shorts so I got to browse in a lot of stores I am normally too awkward to enter. I wanna go back and browse: one way, Barak, Spiral Girl, Deyle, Backs, L.D.S etc now!!

I was good and didn't buy anything there despite all the tempting sales, they were also putting out Autumn items (its August - time for Autumn items haha) so I couldn't focus on summer sale items anymore DX

Well then we headed to Hana's apartment. We first had dinner at a local Thai resturant cause it was late so the hunger level was high haha! Then we went back to her apartment and chatted!

We talked about so many things, not just fashion things. It was nice to have a real conversation, it feels like I haven't since I arrived haha. She gave me tons of makeup, accessories, and clothes she didn't want to bring with her, and I'm SO thankful, I feel so lucky gifts always mean so much to me.

She also gave me the July issue of Edge's which came with an Egoist tote. The shape and size is so nice and useful. Plus it made me realize what a great mag Edge's is! I saw the 1st or 2nd isuse but it didn't impress me, but it seems to have improved and the model Ryo is so cute!

And lastly she gave me a whole bag of UFO prizes her husband Sho caught, he had really caught a lot they couldn't bring. I am a cute things/toy nerd, I am so excited to add them to the collection. The pic above doesn't properly show how many there really are haha!

Well it was so fun to sleep at someone's house again, it's been like 2 years or something. After high school slumber parties just don't happen so much. Hana is really geniune and sweet, she gave me so many nice things as well as a wonderful experience that made this trip more worthwhile!!

Cute on the cheap - Daiso and Donki

Good morning everyone! It feels so long since I last updated, it wasn't so long right? It just feels like it because I have been doing so much perhaps! XD I hung out with Hana all afternoon on Friday and then had a sleep over at her house. It was so fun/exciting because it was my first sleep over in years.

I can't wait to blog about that, but I still need to prepare the photos so it has to wait one more day. Today I am also going out, to my friend's friend's house party, so I'm bringing you something reliable - cute items photos! haha.

There really is NO end to the cute things you can consume here in Japan, cute culture exists here like no where else. A large portion of the whole society (even 50 yo men) have some kind of cute strap on their bag/phone ha. There's characters to represent every item or service imaginable, and they even have a word (zakka) for cute misc household decorative items.

So as you may guess its quite easy to find cute things where-ever you turn, but not all cute things are cheap in Japan. In fact many cute brands or character items may have you saying "510 yen for a notepad??" (or maybe you are not so spendthrift as me haha!) So for people looking for a bargain Daiso and Donki continue to be the answer XD

How about some super cheap gyaru shoes, under 1000 yen and tied in with SBY

Donki is nice for stocking alot of character brand items (where everyone goes directly for kigurumi) but the prices are not rock bottom. The lowest cost items can be found at the Daiso, and they even have tie-in goods with Disney and Sanrio characters!

Because the character goods, the Daiso also produces a lot of its own original cute items such as printed stationary, stickers, pouches, dishware and beauty goods. Not only cute things, but unique and interesting things as well haha. There's a reason you see so many tourists stopping at the Daiso on Takeshita dori.

It's a great place to pick up super cheap cute or Japanese type gifts when you have a big list of people to bring back a gift for. Like a Hello Kitty body wash towel, its something we don't use in the west with a cute character on it for just 100 yen!

Anyhow, this has just been my excuse to post more cute photos, which I love to do and hopefully you love to see. But I hope everyone feels that Donki and The Daiso are good gift-shopping place too, because cute is so ubiquitous in Japan it means it doesn't have to be expensive haha!

Good evening friends, as I said I will try to get back to blogging everyday. There's no excuse during the week when I have free time all day long, so I will turn it around, I will! Well today's still technically the weekend, but doesn't Sunday night always feel like the ramp up to boringness/work?

Well anyhow recently I was able to get some discretionary money, so I feel rather excited to get some new things. This excitement is enough that it makes me want to share the pictures here. It's been awhile since my last gets post so it's ok I think XD ha!

I worked with NHK's Tokyo Kawaii TV staff again, which was so lovely. The producers, directors and workers are all such kind people to me. Really so friendly and great to work with! They very kindly gave me the omiyage above!! I got a Tokyo Girl's Collection tshirt, which is so awesome since I can't go due to classes. And super kirakira stickers and Domo ^3^

So anyhow, here's onto the items I have purchased for myself here in Japan. It's really nice to be here during the sales time since I'm a bargain hunter. I don't have much spare money so I'm considering my purchases very deeply.

Ok, that was so much stuff. But this is all I've gotten clothing wise (plus a pair of loose pants) since I got back to Tokyo, so I think I am doing a good job holding back XD

Good evening everyone, I feel a bit proud that I am blogging now instead of napping like I want to haha. I guess I really should be productive as there is a lot to do before I go back to Japan DX

I've written about a couple shops I like in the past such as Picasso, Jam Pixy and Kiddyland. And today I would like to introduce another shop selling cute things - Pink Latte!

Pink Latte is a chain of shops with locations all over Japan (So you likely be able to find one near you!) that sells a variety of cute accessories, cosmetics and clothing!

I am writing about the Pink Latte that is located right on Takeshita Dori in a small shopping arcade called SoLaDo. You will notice it by its all glass exterior with a Claire's right next to it inside! I have not see the other Pink Latte's so perhaps this is the most visible branch?

Pink Latte sells clothing, and what I have seen it appears to be gears to preteens. Though I have not really spent any time looking at it closely, haha, because it does not suit me.

But Pink Latte sells some things that will interest ladies of all ages! Including false eyelashes, nail polish, pouches, charms and more^^

The most interesting part of Pink Latte is the large pink airplane located in the middle of the shop! You can enter the airplane actually and inside is all hair accessories, enough to last a life time haha!

When I saw the hair accessories I knew I was way above the age curve of Pink Latte haha! They were they type of things girls age 10-14 would wear hehe! So cute though XD

Besides what was in the photos you can find much more! Clothing, makeup and charms as I mentioned but also some stationary and things useful for school or such. If you love cute things or have a younger sister or daughter to shop for, this is a great place to stop!

Even mushrooms gotta have 'tude (+ random cute)

Ok, I will be totally honest, I am at a lost about what to post today. I know I don't really HAVE to post anything, but it feels wrong, just wrong XD I have some random cute photos I want to share, so please enjoy them^^/

And that's what this post is all about. When I saw this picture on this package of mushrooms, I just about died! XD Look at his expression - so nonchalant! Doesn't he just look like "Haters gonna hate"??

I kinda think as amazing as this mushroom is it might not be enough. So I want to share some other photos I took around the same time, but are too random for their own entry.


The day after I ate the mushrooms above, I went to Akihabara to meet my friend's friend, and I passed by a Doutor with this cute sign for their summer campaign.

I guess that's one way to keep people from going insane in the ungodly Japanese summer - offer them delicious sweets and cool drinks! The mille feuille crepe cake looks so good, and I guess that Cheburashka character is somehow involved XD

After that I went to some bookstore to kill time before we all met up, and I saw these cat plush toys, apparently from some manga? called Kuruneko. Their faces also crack me up, so sarcastic looking!

Jelly bean pooping chick

Ok, here's something really silly and pointless! Awhile ago I posted this picture below showing my pink and purple nails, using an Easter chick toy. Some people were curious how this toy actually poops jelly beans.

I finally got a chance to upload some video to show how the toy works. It's just a short silly video, but perhaps it will be "enlightening" haha!
