I didn't end up posting as much as I wanted last week but really it doesn't surprised me at all anymore. I can't stick to anything I say now, and I can't find motivation to do more than basically exist. It's not that I've given up my hopes or dreams for myself and this blog, its just I can't find my way to make those dreams become reality.
I do want to post more this week, which means I really need to edit some photos or finish the lens reviews I've had on the back burner for these past months. Luckily I have a chance to write a post like this, and express some of my feelings now because of the Gaijin Gyaru Awards.
Last year I was nominated four times, and though I lost to my betters, it was so lovely to be thought of by many in the community. These past 6 months I have just let myself go so much - my blog, coordinates, my body and even my health. I thought I'd be making alot of my life now, but I live like a bum.
Before I diverge too much, my point is, I have really fallen and I didn't expect anyone was still thinking about me but Moments like Diamonds was nominated in two of the blog categories. And really, I am just so humbled and appreciative that people are still thinking about MLD and consider it a place of interest/information.
Thank you so much for those who stick by me and MLD. While things are rough for me, just to know that you are still interested in my blog is more than I can ask for. As a thank you, I will really try to pull myself up and start making Moments like Diamonds more useful and fun. I hope we will make Moments like Diamonds better day by day.
I don't like to ask people to vote for me in competitions (etc.), I want people to vote for whatever they prefer best, but if you are interested in the Gaijin Gyaru Awards here is the voting page link. Looking back, Looking ahead
What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't write some retrospective and optimistic post on the day of New Year's Eve? I have read alot of nice New Years posts already since yesterday (due to time differences) and though I don't think I have so much to say on this sort of topic I may as well muse a bit ^^
* January *
This month had something great and something terrible in it. I had traveled to Japan again, but while I was gone my Grandpa passed away from cancer, I couldn't get a return flight unless I paid 4,000$ so it was well, terrible as I said. I don't want to talk about such a personal matter but it has not been easy for the family suffice to say.
However because I was in Japan I was able to hold a gyaru meetup that was aired on Tokyo Kawaii TV and was quite successful. It was amazing to meet so many beautiful ladies from around the world.
* February & March *
I didn't do much in these months. I met up with friends and was doing my pop rock style rather heavily. One thing to mention in March was I was scouted by a legitimate Japanese modeling agency, who offered to fly me to Japan to work with them. Then the earthquake happened and they stopped contacting me. I didn't want to mention it at the time, which ended up being the right choice otherwise I would've looked a fool/been made fun of.
March is also when I start losing my way/confidence in my style. I started trying alot of looks but never really liking anything.
* April, May & June *
Nothing much happened in April, though I began to start collecting My Little Ponies again seriously. Its all popular now so it's harder to get the vintage ones. Then in May I finally got to visit Disneyland in California! It was really great because we stayed onsite and the hotel was wonderful! I also had a meetup with many of the awesome California gals!
In June the gals and gyaru-o in Minnesota formed a gyaru-sa, which I joined. Then halfway through the month I traveled to Tokyo again.
* July & August *
In NHK, Tokyo Kawaii TV has a huge backstock of magazines *o*
My fashions were still pretty hit or miss, atleast there were some hits haha... I got to meet up with my lovely Hana before she moved to Hawaii and I worked closely with Tokyo Kawaii TV and Kawaii.i
Another thing I didn't mention at the time was I did paid acting work for Tokyo Kawaii TV, and filmed in NHK's headquaters. My clips were shown online as promos for TKTV episodes. I was directed to act super hammy, and the clips were'nt viewable outside Japan so I decided to not talk about it. I also didn't want people flaming me over it.
In the end I gave myself heat exhaustion for over exercising, but I reached 57kg. I did some fun things during this trip but mostly I just recall the heat and discomfort.
* September, October, November *
These months are generally eventful as they have holidays and birthdays. My mom's bday is in September, and I also started my last semester of Uni then. October was my bday month, and we celebrated Halloween at DisneyWorld which was a big hit for my family! I also dressed up for the Rocky Horror Show. November was really nothing, besides getting a new job.
* December *
This was the month I graduated, so that was exciting. I also worked often and tried to put alot of effort into buying good gifts for my loved ones. I never dressed up even once, but I enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations.
1. Get a fulltime job
2. Move out (to my own apt. or to Tokyo)
3. Regain my style (dress up regularly, and improve)
I also want to make some blog resolutions/goals. All the responses in the 666 Giveaway have helped me greatly on this, here are the main things you want to see more of!! . . .

Looking back over 2011

Looking ahead to 2012

New banner bonus shots
Hi again! Today I made another new banner! It seems like I just made a new banner the other day, but it was almost 2 months ago now haha. After I went back to a white layout the previous banner just seemed so empty and floating around. Though I liked it, there needed to be more color in the banner to balance everything.
Luckily I got a good idea, but I had to wait a couple weeks to execute it DX So today I could finally take the photos I wanted for the new banner and I'm rather pleased with it. There are things I could change, but its just small piddly things so no reason to go to more trouble.
Since I was already made up and dressed up, I thought I may as well take some extra photos of my looks for fun. So you get to see another post all full of my face haha.
Finally wearing my hand painted ring
I was pretty aggressive with my makeup today, since photos wash out makeup its always a good idea to apply more than usual. I also worked on my contouring, I went back to contouring my nose smaller and tried contouring it shorter. It turned out pleasantly to me.
I finally got a connector ring, and its so fun to wear haha!
This Murua inspired outfit turned out to have a tiny rock feeling XD
My mom was like "What's on your head?!" Don't diss my pomp! XP
Well that's enough of me for today right? haha I'm up to date with my thesis, I got my application material ready for the Human Subjects Research Board so now it just needs to be approved but I can start my literature review in the mean time...TT Though I could work on it now, I'll find something else to do haha.

They sent me this art featuring one of the coordinates I wore in Japan, which was popular with people. I feel especially excited because it shows the more updated side of me!

Ok, this time for real
Oh yeah, I'm announcing another new layout...why am I spending my free time making layouts when I am traveling back to the US tomorrow?? haha! But when I get inspired I just have to finish the project, I have a very obsessive brain. Anyhow I saw this colorblock wallpaper yesterday and I just felt it was right.
I kept the banner but simplified it, and went back to the solid white body. Perhaps it may be too colorful for some, but this is really me now. It's my love of Murua spilling over to web design XD
Anyhow, gotta pack a bit more, 4 bags and I couldn't get everything in that I wanted. Then I will see what new magazines are out today (I know ViVi for sure). Its getting hot so I don't want the laptop on me so much, but I will try to post again later tonight.

New Layout
Hi again finally! I know I haven't been so good at blogging again now, but luckily I was still working on the blog! I have been spending some of my time working on a new layout, as well as just being a wastrel and layabout, I wanted to make my blog appear a bit more updated and in line with my current attitude.
So you can see it all fully implemented now!
I imagine there will be some glitches, especially in regards to commenting and Disqus (it's always the source of glitches...) So if you come across anything please let me know right away! I will try to have everything smoothed out in the next couple of days.

Good evening everyone, wow Friday is almost all gone here in Japan, luckily its a three day weekend though! Monday is Sea Day which is a public holiday, hopefully I can find some fun way to spend the extra day with my friend. (I will post the FHF though, just later on your Friday haha).
I always worry about MLD being relevant and interesting, well sometimes I get lazy, but I often think about improvement. I really enjoyed writing the post about purikura in Harajuku, and I want to do more. I want to answer your questions about Tokyo!

I want to do more "Where to find..." "How to do..." "All about..." type of guides, and I want to write them about places, events and things YOU find interesting or of question. Please leave your suggestions and ideas in a reply.

Art gift from Christian, and current updates
Oh I think I woke up too early, in my stupor I thought the clock said 8:30 am but really it was 7:30. So my eyes are all cloudy and itchy and my brain is not working properly haha. I want to go to a flea market today, but I may not be able to go when it opens since my friend is a late sleeper...ha DX
Anyhow, I wanted to share this really lovely artwork that I received from Christian a little bit ago, and am just getting around to now. I always am just so surprised and honored that anyone, especially someone SO talented as Christian, would make an art for me.
So pretty right?? I really wish I could look this delicate and beautiful XD Thank you so much again Christian!
I have now set up a link in the sidebar to a page containing all the gift art I have received so far. I want to give thanks and credit to everyone who has taken moments of their life to make me something lovely!!
Also, in regards to Japan Gems, I thought I had figured out a good way to accept payment, but now I feel it wouldn't work out. I am currently trying to find the least fee-ish way to get money from my paypal, so currently inquiries are on hold.
And lastly, I have removed the text for accepting sponsorship from my sidebar. I've decided to not accept new sponsorships because I feel that with sooo many blogs out there doing reviews, adding more to mine would be unnecessary. Of course currently running sponsor partnerships are upheld.

Japan Gems shopping service is up
Good evening everyone. I'm sorry about yesterday's premature posting of the Fashion Hime Friday, it was a bit before Friday even here. I would like to blame it on not being adjusted to the time difference yet, but its just because I have no work or school to orientate my days DX
Regarding my previous post asking for feedback on a possible shopping service, I was very pleased to receive such an overwhelming positive response. I too have often wished I could get something available only in stores in Japan.
So today I finished inputting all the informational details and text into my shopping service website, and now announce that Japan Gems is open.
You can find everything you need to know about using the service there hopefully, and if there is something I missed please feel free to let me know.
I did my best to keep the fees as low as I could, unfortunately I live on the far edge of Tokyo (2 stops away from Chiba ha) so train fare is not as cheap. And the spiraling exchange rate makes me sad argh TT
Hopefully this service can be useful for clothing items, cheaper items would probably not be worth the fees. It may also be useful to order items together with others living in your home country or something.
But feel free to consider this an option if there is something you really want thats exclusive in-store in Tokyo^^

Now that I think about it, I could've been productive in some manner (like editing photos) but letting my mind run on internet autopilot won out once again! Anyway, that's not the point, this is:
I'm going to be here in Japan for another two months without any real reasons/plans, so I have tons of spare time to help other people out. And I know there are some services for online shopping, but getting things from Japanese stores without webshops is not so easy.
I would take orders for items in physical shops like tutuHA, Swimmer, SBY etc etc. (Any fashion, accessory, cute or character goods shops) Then go to the store, buy the item and ship it directly to your location around the world.
My fees would include a train fare fee (about 660 yen, the price it costs from Ichinoe to Shibuya), and a small fee based on the price of the item. The paypal fee and actual shipping cost would be covered by the buyer.
If there seems to be any interest I will set up a shopping service page with all the info this week and begin accepting orders immediately. And if anyone would want an online shopping service, I could set that up too.
I would really love to do this for everyone, please let me know your thoughts or concerns^^

Just a couple updates
Oh I had busy day today, so I didn't get the chance to make a good post today TT Tomorrow is my grandfathers burial, but I will have the Fashion Hime Friday posted sometime in the afternoon central time.

Spring Nail Art Contest Winner!
Hey there, yay the blogger down time has now finished! What a relief haha! Did anyone have trouble accessing Moments like Diamonds during the past day, my mom said she couldn't view the newest post. If you ever have a technical issue here, please feel free to email or PM me^^/
But here is the real reason for this post - to announce the winner of the Spring theme Nail Art Contest, which took place last month. I decided the winner this week with consultation with fellow judges (whom I all know in real life).
And without further ado....

Thank you so much dear for entering you beautiful nails. The reason I chose this entry is because I really felt "spring" "fresh" and "bright" when I saw them, which really was the point of the theme. She also utilized a variety of symbols and colors which were part of the rules.
Honestly I want to say how hard it was to pick just one winner, it made me feel like a villain! I was so grateful to receive over 20 entries to this contest, I know it was not easy to meet the dealine/have the materials etc.
