Fashion Hime Friday #70 - Sarah Marie!

Hello there friends! Well it's Friday, I should be happy but I caught my mom's cold and this weekend will be alot of family business going on, so I will try to enjoy this last moment of quiet. And how funny today we get to meet the newest Fashion Hime with a familiar name XD Sarah Marie has a great taste in fashion and is so lovely, please enjoy her interview!

Name: Sarah Marie
Location: Vancouver Island, Canada
Fashion Style: "Blogger" and gal inspired
Link: http://talk2melove.blogspot.com/

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?

My style is probably a combination of "blogger" style and gal fashion combined.
I first became interested in fashion when I moved to Japan for exchange & working holiday.
I always wanted to dress gal but Im happy that gal style has grown so much and
has so many different interpretations these days!

How did you discover your style?
I can say I had zero style when I first moved to Japan and quickley got inspired
by all the amazing looking gals! I started buying gal magazines and planning
shopping trips to Tokyo ( I lived in a small town in Hokkaido). Eventually I
stopped trying to copy the looks exactly and started to take inspiration from them and
make them my own.

When do you dress in your style?

I always dress in my style, everyday. I work as a hairstylist so I dont need to wear any
uniform or special dress code. I love it!

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?

In the begining I was always concerned about the rules of dressing "gal" but
my style changed and I think fashion (even gal fashion) has become
more individual, I think nobody needs to follow rules anymore ;)

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
I tend to wear long necklaces a lot...I cant live without my liquid liner.

What do you think is important about fashion?
Expressing yourself and being comfortable! Some people are comfortable in
sneakers (thats great for them) and others are more comfortable in highheels. It
doesnt matter what you wear, if you are comfortable you will be confident and
confidence always looks great!

Fashion Hime Friday #69 - Prisilia Felicia!

Good day, welcome back Fashion Hime Fridays~!! I want to say here, thank you everyone who has mentioned what they'd like to see more of on Moments like Diamonds in my 666 Giveaway. Really its so helpful! And Fashion Hime Friday was one of the items brought up there, so I have brought it back. Anyone who had entered FHF and didn't get a reply from me, please re-apply, I promise signups are running as normal again!

For the re-start of FHF we get to meet the very adorable and sweet Prisilia Felicia, what a cute name to boot XD Please enjoy her interview!

Name: Prisilia Felicia
Location: Indonesia
Fashion Style: Mixed, but it has to be comfortable:)
Link: http://prisiliafelicia.blogspot.com

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I...don't know what my style yet but I like vintage stuffs and layered clothes, sometimes I do combination from them. Really wanted to be a mori girl but my country season isn't really supportive so I gave up XD

So I ended up dress normally and comfortably because circumstances force me to use public transportation which is....not feasible for a dress up girl :))
I've been picky about what I wear since I was a toddler, but I really into fashion just recently 2 years ago and still searching what style suits me well.

How did you discover your style?
Basically I love taking nice picture of myself then I realized to look nice on a photo you have to wear nice coordination of clothes as well.
So yeah, I always make sure to pick good looking clothes before I go out and you can find me gazing around korean-japanese online shop and magazine, also vintage styled blog:D

When do you dress in your style?
I have to wear uniform at school, beside for me school isn't a nice place to show my clothes off; So I dress when I'm about to go to a place with nice scenery. Only if it has nice scenery^0^

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
I just follow the right rules which lead me to advantage. I don't wear high heels because I walk alot, low heels maybe, but wear it rarely; I wear outer to camouflage my huge hips; I prefer huge leather bag than small cutesy bag because I bring lots of things on trip, rules like that. I pick some old rules and make my own some:D

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
Yes! I only wear loose top, won't wear a tight one =] and low or no heel-ed shoes

What do you think is important about fashion?
The instinct to dress on a right time and place, also the confidence you bring when you do fashion. If you don't have the guts to show your style to the world then you don't know the meaning of fashion!:))

Fashion Hime Friday #66 - Sarah!

Good evening, I'm sorry the FHF is a bit late today. I have been doing a lot of chores and errands. This is a very stressful weekend, and I feel so relived I can post the FHF today because I don't feel I can say anything good atm haha. I really hope you will have a good weekend though, and please enjoy meeting the super lovely Sarah today!

Name: Sarah
Location: London
Fashion Style: mix & match
Link: mojobeat.blogspot.com

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I'm not sure about what particular style I have ^^" But Japanese street fashion has been the heart of my clothing inspirations. I actually grew up watching a lot of anime so have always had a great deal of admiration for Harajuku fashion. Recently, I've been looking upto a lot of gyaru bloggers and am loving the trend!

How did you discover your style?
Anime introduced me to some of the most awesome J-rockers. They were, in fact, my first ever style icons. When I was fifteen, I would regularly wear studded belts on skinny jeans, and paint my nails black. I have a friend back from school who is really into ganguro and gyaru and am indebted to her for introducing me to the style!

When do you dress in your style?
At the moment, I'm experimenting gyaru-kei with rokku and dress up according to it whenever I'm meeting up with family and friends. During other times, like going to lectures, I always go for Amekaji.

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
I like following some fashion rules but am not too strict about it. The first ever rule I followed and still do on formal occasions, was given to me by my mother, about always matching the colour of shoes with that of the handbag. I also like customizing some items like handbags and jeans, and normally don't follow any rules for it.

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
I don't think I have a signature item but I often wear black and my big thick glasses :D

What do you think is important about fashion?
I would say that the most important thing is about being yourself. I used to be a bit hesitant about expressing myself through clothing but have come to learn that you have a lot more fun when you are confident about yourself and the way you dress.

Fashion Hime Friday #65 - Severine!

Good morning! I am really getting the Fashion Hime Friday in on time today right? It's still Friday in many places? XD Today will be busy for me, so I thought its best to post the new interview when there is a chance. I hope you will have a better day than me and that FHF is just the fun beginning! Today we meet the charming Severine, please enjoy!

Name: Severine
Nickname: Petitpaindepice (which mean little gingerbread girl in french)
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Fashion Style: Casual Gyaru: I like Giaru , Mori Gal and Cocolulu-Roxy-Colorful Style
Link: http://petitpaindepice.blogspot.com

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I've always been interested in fashion but different styles. Before being interested in Kawaii and japanese culture I was "gothic" then I started to like casual and colorful clothes. When I visited Japan for the 1st time and the next ones I became more and more interested in Gyaru style. I can't define what style I am but I like many japanese fashion style as listed above.

How did you discover your style?
By visiting Tokyo many time -including mostly Harajuku and Shibuya-. Also by buying japanese Gal magazines.

When do you dress in your style?
When I have the time, for any occasion: it can be at university, for going out with friends but most of the time : during holidays. Especially when I'm in Japan.

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
Both... I like to have an inspiration and stick to general style but I like to mix different styles I like too.

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
The style itself : cute is my signature because it's very japanese-fashion inspired and nobody dress like that in my city. Except that, I dont have a accessory or clothing that I stick to because I like to mix, to be original and to always try new things.

What do you think is important about fashion?
Enjoing it ! simply ! and being confident about yourself, not to care about people's bad comments.

Fashion Hime Friday #64 - Golly-Locks!

Good morning everyone! It's Friday morning here, and sorry there's been some radio silence recently haha, but I think today's Fashion Hime Friday will make up for it! Its almost the weekend (or already the weekend depending on your location haha) so it's hard to be negative XD This week we are meeting the super lovely and cute Golly-Locks, please enjoy it!

Name: SY (Aka Golly-Locks)
Location: Singapore
Fashion Style: Ane Kei/ Gyaru/ Koakuma
Link: http://golly-locks.blogspot.com

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I usually go along with how I was feeling that day. But most of the times I would switch between Mode/ sweet Gyaru and a more toned down kyaba style. I came to like dressing myself up when I was about 14 years old and got interested in particular, Japanese fashion when I was 16.

How did you discover your style?
I only started dressing up girly when I was about 18. There was quite a big transition in style from when I started till now. I started off Visual Kei for quite some time and then I switched to Gyaru/ Koakuma kei after quitting my band and happened across Sakurina in Koakuma Ageha~

When do you dress in your style?
Mostly when there are events, Japanese related fairs, going out with my girl friends or boyfriend.

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
Not really a fan of following fashion rules, after all I'm an Aries~ XD But when it comes to whether the clothes suit my body type and all, I'm quite picky about it. I don't know if I should call it a rule. But I'm very particular about it since I'm not really stick thin and petite like the Japanese models.

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
My signature item usually don't last so I guess it's not a signature item. But whenever I have the money I use it to do my crazy nails. I would do my nails every month to be like Sakurina's if I have the money~~

What do you think is important about fashion?
Fashion is all about feeling more confident about yourself but at the same time feeling comfortable. No point feeling uncomfortable in what we wear cos in the end it will not make us feel good. And though they say that there ARE rules when it comes to fashion, don't follow it blindly, only apply it when applicable.

Fashion Hime Friday #63 - Caroline!

Hello and Happy Friday, well I guess its Saturday in much of the world, indeed there is not so much Friday left even here. But there's still time to enjoy the beginning of the weekend. It's a holiday weekend here but it will be all work and no fun for me, luckily the FHF can cheer me up haha. This week we meet the lovely Caroline, please enjoy it!!

Name: Caroline
Location: Sweden
Fashion Style: Girly
Link: http://everydaykawaii.blogspot.com/

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I've been interested my whole life!
I remember dressing up as Spice Girls as a child, and every other big celebrity at the time, and then I'd perform different acts in front of my family. It was so much fun & can very well be a reason to why I'm interested in clothes today. It really gives you your own character!

How did you discover your style?
I've been through all different stages; I've been the horse girl, dressing myself in comfortable clothing, the 'emo'-girl who had black & red all over, The one who likes to cosplay and so forth.. I have always been observant of people around me & the fashion popular at the moment and in magazines. As I always have been interested in asia i've read fashion magazine from over there too . It was so different from what people wear around here I immediately was drawn towards that kind of fashion, which led me to where I am today.

When do you dress in your style?
Everyday! Although depending on the occasion I might dress up, or dress down.

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
I think I do follow 'the rules' to a certain point, but I want to stand out too and that's when you have to be yourself.

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
It's not that I have a specific item, but I like to dress real girly so I tend to put on things that make my outfit seem that way.
Also, I think my bleachblond hair is kind of my signature & people can spot me from far away! ^^

What do you think is important about fashion?
Fashion is plain fun & is not to be taken dead serious. Dress up if that's what you want to do and if not, don't! The key is really to stay true to yourself and what you like.

Fashion Hime Friday #62 - Naomi!

Oh my! I think I am actually posting this when it is Friday everywhere, that is so amazing to me haha! I hope everyone will have a good Friday just as I had today and that this new Fashion Hime edition will be well received. This week we get to meet the very sweet and cute Naomi, so please enjoy meeting her!

Name: Salla, but you can call me Naomi, it's my favorite nickname =)
Location: Finland
Fashion Style: Gyaru, mixed with all things I'm inspired.
Link: http://pinkkikarkki.blogspot.com

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I think, the style what inspires me the most is gyaru-kei and so, it's my style! =D I dress the way I want, no one can come to me and say " you can't dress like that because it's not gal!".
I rather be myself than something what somebody wants me to be.
I've been interested about fashion since I've realized that I can dress the way I want.

How did you discover your style?
Well, how I could say it... My style is like my mood, rock, girlish or whatever comes to my mind!

When do you dress in your style?
I dress in my style all the time, but if you mean gyaru, I dress like that every time when I have something like circle-meeting or something like that.

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
I create my own rules!

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
My friends say that is leopard print, but I'm not sure about it anymore because.. I don't know, I don't wear it as much as before..
So, I think I don't have signature item anymore =(.

What do you think is important about fashion?
I think that fashion should be fun, not something what you have to do.

Fashion Hime Friday #61 - April!

Happy Friday (may it be quite late, or even Saturday morning now XD) Sorry for the lack of updates, recently my health is not 100% but hopefully soon it will be. I hope everyone is looking forward to a fun filled weekend that the FHF is just the beginning of haha. This week we are meeting the lovely April, please enjoy it!

Name: April
Location: Canada
Fashion Style: gyaru/mori/street casual
Link: http://2reachyou.blog128.fc2.com/

What is your style, and how long have you been interested in fashion?
I go for European fashion as well as Japanese fashion... Usually the designers in japan inspire me bcause the clothing is so unique. I've been interested only about three years ago, once I realized how much better one could look if they cared about what they wore LOL orz.

When do you dress in your style?
Every day, although not as much at school. I love dressing up when going out to chill with friends though~

Do you like to follow fashion rules, or create your own?
I prefer creating my own because sometimes pieces of clothing totally catch your eye and you just get the urge to match it with something else no one has ever done before. :)

Do you have one item (clothing, accessory, cosmetic) that is your signature?
I don't think so, but people have said tights were my thing.

What do you think is important about fashion?
I think it's important to not be influenced by what's a trend around you. Rather, you should be open-minded to new ideas. :D And also go for what you like, even if it might not turn out so great.
