Milan Menswear Fashion Week Burberry Prorsum SS 2012

An ethnic touch at Burberry Prorsum was the base of the Burberry show  in Milan and Christopher Bailey presented an extremely diverse collection that had an amazing array of color, a “handmade tradition” with  a hint of humor .As always, there was the house signature item the trench coat, combined to raffia crochet colorful hats with a pompom. It seems like a reference to the winter Coppola cap but the rest of the outfit is strictly spring.

At this point, I can definitely say that Bailey  did an incredible job, by bringing us something completely different and never-seen with the ethnic twist. Every man can find in this collection the item that suits them best , there are countless offers in the runway;  nylon with printed suns shapes, leather, chambray linen, cotton poplin, twill, cotton, jacquard with stripes of raffia, cotton denim and  the traditional single-breasted trench coat but also the business extra large one, the duffle coat with a funnel-shaped collar, the colorful parkas, tailored jackets with applied pockets but also racecar ones with double neck, striped cardigans, short over-sized shirts, slim high-waisted pants.Burberry show was about the  early spring days in London, where you can wear light clothing in linen or cotton twill but combine them with leather jackets.

The woven straw hats, the classic sunglasses, the great display of bags, lovely parkas and coats, and the wonderful patterned pants and shirts. His use of tribal Batik prints were amazing and the use of colors was really amusing ; dark musk, brown, red beetroot, gunmetal grey, light amber, dark bottle green, ink blue, malachite, ochre

For ACCESSORIES Christopher Bailey  offered  laced moccasin with cork sole, desert leather and python loafers, maxi bags in raffia with leather details, iPad cases in crocodile.

The collection is a huge success for Bailey this season, defiantly one of my favorites.
